I was born in Bielefeld in 1963 and have more than 25 years’ professional experience behind me. After taking the Abitur I did my military service before studying business economics and business administration in Germany and abroad. I successfully completed both courses of study, graduating in Business Management and as MBA with Distinction.
I started my professional career with Tchibo GmbH in Hamburg. There I soon gained management experience in various positions within the Controlling department and learned that order and structure in figures is not an end in itself but a critical factor in the success of any business. I had the opportunity to design change processes, some of them complex, on a variety of projects. One formative experience was my involvement in the Tchibo-Eduscho merger within the Business core team. My last role within the Tchibo Group was heading up the Business Management and Administration departments at a subsidiary.
Further stages in my career in Germany and abroad took me to the MPC Group as a holder of a general commercial power of attorney and, among other things, to Olympus Holding as Strategic Project Officer. During this phase of my career I performed various management duties in the fields of finance, accounting and controlling, as well as continuing to be responsible for commercial projects and carrying them through to a successful conclusion. Most recently I spent eight years as CFO of a medium-sized company in the greater Hamburg area, directing the commercial activities and running the finance, accounting, controlling, tax and legal departments.
Since 2015 I have worked as a freelance Interim Manager and Project Manager, successfully completing one to two assignments per year. As an Interim Manager my clients hold me in high regard as a professional “troubleshooter” with the proven ability to work out practicable solutions, even in a difficult environment, independently and in a focused manner and at the same time to “carry the team with me” in a cooperative and empathetic way. As a Project Manager my clients regard me as a business architect, a prudent driver and an advisor who inspires confidence.
I am married with two sons and my family and I live in Norderstedt near Hamburg.
